Science and Maths in BM? Do We Really Care?

Today's headlines in the front page of The Star caught my eye as I was walking to class: Back to BM.

The article, next to the article about the late Micheal Jackson's memorial service, stated that the Government is going to teach maths and science in Bahasa Melayu starting from 2012. The main reason is that they feel that there is "a growing gap between the urban and rural schools."

Huh?
I thought the whole point of studying these two subjects in English was to prepare ourselves so that we are able to study other subjects well in English since, well, all the subjects in uni or colleges are in English. So why can't they send or train more Math and Science teachers which are really good in English to the rural areas?

Of course, the ministry will counter this problem by hiring more teachers, increase more time on English lessons, rehiring retirees etc etc. Wow, they do think of everything.

As I fumed over this news, I have a sudden thought: Do I really care if they change the teaching of Science and Math back to BM?

I wanted very much to say yes, but thinking deeper, I actually don't give a damn. (As long as they don't change the teaching in English in uni) You see, as a newly egoist follower by just a few minutes ago, would I go stand in the hot Malysian weather and protest the change? Would I campaign
to give these guys a break who studied these two subjects in BM for almost ten years just because they don't have any clue what is "anorexia" or "standard deviation"?

No, I won't.

You see, as the follower of egoism, as long as I am not affected by this decision, then it is fine. After all, I have studied Maths and Science in English about 6 years. Did learning Maths and Science in English helped me to achieve my current dismal level in English? I cannot deny that it did help me. But I am just a 19 year old Chinese girl, my opinions will not be taken seriously anyway. And guys, running a country is EXHAUSTING. So please give the Government a break. They are doing the best they can and they had to make hard decisions which will affect the country's future for better or for worse. Not all of us are psychics and predicted the tsunami that happened a few years ago or even Micheal Jackon's passing (Rest in Peace, MJ) We cannot see what will happen in the future.

So stop fretting about the whole thing and just enjoy life. Me? I'm going to read the article about the late King of Pop and finish up that Marketing assignment. In English of course.

XOXO
Megan.

Miss Monday

Well, do not doubt. It's me again. Y-a-w-n

Let's continue with Megan's Monday Madness story.. *wink*

*Lolz*To comfort the 'tiny heart' of us ( T_T..my sweet sour fish ) , we went to Sakae Sushi. Grrr...Sakae Sushi is the pain for me yesterday!! As we ''coincidentally' mention about the hot guy in the bus, Megan told me that if and only if I sat beside the guy, she will eventually give me a treat in Sakae. What a waste for me!*sob*

Needless to say, I think I am having an 'anti-anorexia' ( as I have really no idea of what it is known as ). After Sakae Sushi, we went to Waffle World and had a Banana Waffle with ice-cream,Y-U-M-M-Y! *finger-licking-good face*

CAUTION !!

We ( okie..actually it is only me ) do even went to A&W and get a reg
ular root beer. *sip*

*Bungee Jump*Jumping to another scenario, XOXO? Actually we meant to put our postcode number, 50490 (sounds like 90210?) as the blog name. *smile*

p/s : Movie Buffs are going to watch Ice Age 3 3D version this Sunday. Cheers for us.

To be more conservative, I am going to end my 2nd post with

our blog name...

Hi everyone,Cheryl here. ^^

As the saying goes, sharing is caring. The main purpose of this joint blog is to show that we care about each other. *smile with tongue out*

Are there any of you guys wonder why this joint blog appears? ( Everyone : NO!! ). Gotcha!! Since you all are interested, I will explain the process of the new born blog.*wink*

At first, I am not interested in blogging ( 'freshgirl' here ). However, since there are some unexpectedly things happen today (p/s: with a hot guy using the same model of phone as me), we aka me and Megan, best friend vs roomie, decided to have a joint blog in order to mark down the trials and tribulations we had and have undergone. Sort of serious, lolz.

Let's end my first post with our blog name............

First Post by Megan

Hi there upper east-siders(*wink*; totally love that line from Gossip Girl), this is my first post in our joint blog.

First question, why a joint blog and why start blogging now? To be honest, I have no interest to start blogging in the first place. The idea appealed to me only today because of the things that happened to me and my roomie and best friend, Cheryl today. Thus the idea of having a joint blog was born, to record all the crazy stuff happening to us in kl.

Who says the grass is greener on the other side of the fence, or should I say, on the other side of Malaysia?

XOXO

Monday Madness >.<

To me, Monday ROCKS!!!

This semester, on Monday I only have one class which starts at 2pm to 4pm. Which means I can stay in bed whole morning if I want to. But not this Monday though.

"I'm so hungry!" I said as I sat down on my bed after coming back from my class.

"Me too," said Cheryl, "What should we eat?"

Both of us immediately start thinking. It was really challenging trying to find a decent place to eat dinner around our hostel area, since well, all the restaurants, cafes and kedai kopi closes at 4pm with the exception of fast foods and the Indian shop, Ali Maju.

I sighed. "I really want to eat sweet and sour fish."

Minutes later, Cheryl and I happily walked to the nearby bus stop to go to Damansara Uptown to search for the rare delicacy: sweet and sour fish. We stood in front of the bus stop when suddenly a group of people walked towards us. One of them was our friend/my classmate/ housemate, Soong. What a coincidence. Turns out she was going somewhere to look at a house for rent. (She wanted to move out from our hostel) The bus came and we all boarded it.

We arrived at Damansara Uptown, searched the streets for sweet and sour fish. We found a shop which do serve sweet and sour fish but it looks expensive and high class. We walked into a bakery and bought a pandan cake to eat. We eventually gave up looking partly because of the hot weather (I was really dissapointed) and boarded the bus to 1 Utama to eat sushi.

That is when we first saw "the cute guy".

We sat down. After awhile cute guy sat down, the seat beside him is empty. Cheryl said to me, "Hey, should I go sit beside him??" I whispered to Cheryl, "Hey, if you sat beside him, I will treat you sushi after this." A few seconds later, the seat was taken by a middle age work guy. Cheryl was disappointed (so am I). Later, as we neared 1 u, the guy took out his handphone and I quickly nudged Cheryl.

"Hey, that guy use the same handphone model as you!"

The bus stop and thus we have arrived at 1 Utama shopping centre. All the way just to get dinner.

XOXO
Megan.
